Insecticides recommended for FAW control

These are the insecticides recommended for FAW control in Malawi.

NOTE: The insecticides must be applied upon detecting presence of fall
armyworms in the crop and application must be done in the funnels
of the plants. Regular monitoring of the crop (every 3 or 4 days) is
paramount so as to be able to detect and control infestations in
their early stages since young fall armyworms succumb easily to
insecticides unlike older ones. Early signs of infestation occur in
leaves and these are (i) egg masses, (ii) scraped patches and
masses of tiny dark-green caterpillars with big black heads.
